Story: The narrative follows James Grayson after the events of Resistance: Fall of Man, as he works with the European resistance Maquis to push back the Chimera invasion of Europe.
Gameplay: As a third-person shooter, it features a cover system to allow players to take cover behind objects while attacking the enemy.
Weapons: The game includes a variety of weapons, both from the Fall of Man series and new ones based on hybrid alien/human technology.
Multiplayer: It offers 8-player multiplayer modes, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment, and Assimilation, playable through both Ad Hoc and Infrastructure modes.
PS3 connectivity: Players can link their PSP with Resistance 2 on the PS3 to unlock new content and an alternate story in a special "Infected" mode.
Technical: It was built on a third-generation PSP engine, allowing for more enemies, higher resolution character models, and larger game worlds.
Platform: The "PAL" designation means it is the European version of the game, and the "Platinum" version indicates it is a budget re-release.
