Story: Follows a star blitzball player named Tidus who joins a summoner named Yuna on a pilgrimage to defeat a monster called "Sin".
Combat: Features an innovative turn-based battle system that allows players to swap party members in and out during combat.
Character Development: Uses the "Sphere Grid," a unique skill tree where players customize characters by moving on the grid to gain attributes and abilities.
Visuals and Audio: Includes seamless 3D environments, a first for the series, and was the first Final Fantasy title to integrate full voice acting in many of the cutscenes.
World: Presents a seamless world with no traditional top-down world map; the environment is fully rendered and connected, although an airship becomes available later for faster travel.
