First-person combat: Engage in visceral close-quarters combat with a combo-based melee system or use firearms like pistols, shotguns, and sub-machine guns.
Forensic investigation: Use forensic tools to examine crime scenes, and your success in identifying clues unlocks better equipment and skills.
Finishing moves: Utilize over 40 brutal finishing moves to eliminate enemies, including environmental kills, such as smashing a head into a TV.
Environmental interaction: Weapons include a variety of melee items like axes, pipes, and wrenches, and many can be thrown.
Intelligent AI: Enemies feature realistic AI, and in some situations, they may even fight on your side if you are able to befriend them. 
Multiplayer
Up to eight players: Compete in four distinct online modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Bum Rush, and Crime Scene.
Bum Rush: Two Special Crimes Unit members must fight against six "infected" humans.
Crime Scene: Two teams of four compete, with one team trying to hide and protect briefcases while the other uses detective tools to track them down.
